The city of Dearborn has declared a snow emergency, effective at 9 p.m. Thursday night.

The city's emergency warning sirens will sound at 9 p.m. Thursday to alert residents of the emergency.
Parked vehicles must be off the streets to allow for efficient and safe snowplowing. Tickets will be issued to owners of parked vehicles left on the streets. No warnings are issued.

The National Weather Service predicts that southeast Michigan will be blanketed with up to six inches of snow by Friday morning. According to the winter storm warning alert, a low pressure system is expected to move into the area Thursday evening, bringing with it a mix of rain and snow that will change over to all snow Thursday night.
Expect snow-covered, slippery roads and a messy commute Friday morning.
