Rough Weather Ahead for Southeast Michigan

Thunderstorms likely, with tornadoes and more flooding possible.

Another bout of hazardous weather is headed toward southeast Michigan Sunday night, with thunderstorms likely and a flood and tornado watch in effect for most of the region, according to the National Weather Service.

Thunderstorms are moving through southeast Michigan throughout the evening, expected to hit Shiawassee, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee and Monroe Counties. Damaging winds with speeds up to 70 miles per hour and hail are possible.

Rain accumulation from storms could be up to one inch per hour, and with the region's already saturated grounds and high-running rivers and streams, a flood watch is in effect until 2 a.m. Monday.
