Paper Shredding Available Saturday for Dearborn Residents

Dearborn residents can dispose of confidential documents at the DPW Yard Saturday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m.

Did you know that stolen paperwork accounts for 43 percent of all identity theft, according to a 2009  Javelin Strategy and Research study? Or that one out of every 10 Americans has had their identity stolen?

The city of Dearborn is making it easier for residents to protect themselves by sponsoring a free document shedding day on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Department of Public Works Yard, which is located at 2951 Greenfield.

The event is open to Dearborn residents, and proof of residency is required.
