Hang Out With Dearborn Patch at the Mutt Strut

Dearborn Patch is going to the dogs.

This Saturday, come hang out with Patch at the , hosted by the Friends For the .

The annual event is one of the biggest fundraisers for the shelter, raising tens of thousands of dollars each year to help care for adoptable animals. Funds are raised through pledge teams on www.dearbornmuttstrut.com.

The event features a 1.9 mile pledge-driven walk that encourages all skill levels to leash up their dogs and strut with family and friends. The leisurely walk runs adjacent to Michigan Avenue, Dearborn’s major thoroughfare, and provides businesses a chance to showcase themselves to new visitors to the city.

The expo portion is a community-wide animal celebration that takes place at in Dearborn.

That's where you'll find Dearborn Patch–look for us near the Kiss-a-Bulls booth, where a small donation gets a big kiss from a sweet shelter dog looking to share some love.

Patch will be there between 11 a.m.-2 p.m. to snap your photo while getting a kiss and sign you up for our newsletter so that you can check out your picture on our site. Plus, grab some free swag!

Additionally, the expo will feature an array of free, fun activities, including:

• Ribbon cutting featuring Danielle Car of Fresh 100 and Bill McAllister from 97.l The Ticket, along with their pup Maple, who was adopted from the Friends
• Chihuahua Reunion, featuring the dogs rescued in August 2009, and their new loving families
• Former Detroit Tiger Milt Wilcox and his Ultimate Air Dogs
• K-9 Fun Run, a luring-style race for family pets to unleash their energy
• Doggie Fun Zone sponsored by , offering games  and contests galore
• Health Zone focusing on healthy lifestyles for people and pets
• Midway of local and eco-friendly vendors with pet-related items
