Tuesday Dearborn Farmers Market Canceled Due to Heat

The market was scheduled to take place at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 17.

The Dearborn Farmers Market evening edition scheduled for Tuesday, July 17, has been canceled.

The , which oversees the market, made the announcement Tuesday morning, citing extreme heat conditions as the reason for cancelling the evening market.

The market was set to take place at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Muirhead Plaza, just outside of the .

The normal Friday edition of the market, set to take place from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. in the same location, is still planned to occur as scheduled on Friday, July 20.

The next evening market is scheduled to be held from 4-7 p.m. Aug. 21. The canceled July evening market will not be rescheduled.

A heat advisory has been issued for Dearborn by the National Weather Service. Temperatures for Tuesday were expected to top out at 103 degrees, with a heat index of up to 110 degrees.
