Hot Dogs a Hot Button Issue

When the Binky's hot dog cart was moved out of the Westborn Mall parking lot in the spring of 2012, it was Dearborn resident who rallied supporters on Patch to bring it back. Eventually, Binky's returned to the strip mall, knowing that the resident-run outdoor hot dog business had a lot of local supporters.

Fordson High School student Husain Bazzi spoke his mind about the shooting of Florida teen Trayvon Martin in February of 2012. This local response to a nationally relevant issue sparked much discussion on Patch.

Dearborn Goes to DNC, RNC

Patch readers got a hyperlocal view of a very national event when residents reported live from the Democratic and Republican National Conventions in August and September of 2012. Delegate Fred Hoffman shared photos, facts and thoughts leading up to, during and after the DNC; teenager Eric Smith was lucky enough to have his first glimpse of the RNC, and shared his big trip on Patch.
