Dearborn Library Wants Residents' Votes for New Card Design

The Dearborn Public Library is allowing patrons to vote for their favorite new library card design during the month of April.

This month, library patrons are having a say in the future design of Dearborn Public Library cards.

The library system is seeking input on a variety of possible new designs. Patrons are encouraged to vote whenever they check out books from the or any of the three branches: , and .

“The Library’s Circulation Committee narrowed the field down to nine designs,” said Deputy Library Director Julie Schaefer, “but now we need assistance picking the one that will be printed and made available as a choice when registering for a Dearborn Public Library card.”

All the designs are colorful and cartoonish, ranging from a frog wearing a crown to a train made of books.

The winning design will be printed and distributed as the next Dearborn Public Library card and those who cast a vote will be eligible for a gift-card drawing.

All votes must be done in person at any Dearborn Public Library checkout desk. Voting will end April 30 and a winning design announced shortly after.

“Voting for the library card design is intended to be a fun way to encourage people to visit the library and check out materials during April, National Library Month,” Schaefer noted.
