Dearborn Lawyer Named to Legacy DMC Board

Candyce Abbatt also serves on the Dearborn Public Library Commission.

The Detroit Medical Center announced Tuesday that Dearborn resident and attorney Candyce Abbatt has been named to the Legacy DMC Board of Trustees. Abbatt joins 18 other trustees, and was appointed by Attorney General Bill Schuette.

“Candyce Abbatt is a smart, experienced, and hard-working attorney with a strong commitment to charitable activities in southeast Michigan,” said Schuette. “She will be a strong voice for the community on the Legacy DMC board. I am confident her leadership will be an asset to the Detroit-area families who rely upon DMC hospitals for essential health care services.”

Legacy DMC, a charitable Michigan nonprofit corporation, is responsible for monitoring the actions of Vanguard Health Systems, a for-profit company that acquired all DMC hospitals in a $1.5 billion deal in 2010.
