VIDEO: Dearborn Animal Shelter in Urgent Need of Kitten Adopters

The shelter is currently at capacity, and will be holding several events this weekend in an effort to adopt out cats and kittens.

While it might seem like a great thing to see new kittens every day, for the , it has meant a particularly stressful season.

Currently, the shelter is at capacity with its space for cat and kittens, as well as foster homes. Shelter spokeswoman Sandra Boulton said that new stray cats are being dropped off daily, and the shelter is in urgent need of new adopters.

The shelter will be hosting off-site adoptions from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Dearborn and Livonia Pet Supplies Plus locations. The is located at 2621 South Telegraph Road. The Livonia store is located at 29489 Seven Mile Road.

Adoption fees are still the reduced rate of $25 for cats and $55 for kittens. Also, the shelter is currently running a promotion where families can take home two cats or kittens for the price of one.
