Construction Alert: Southfield Freeway Ramp Closures Happen Saturday

Ramp closures on the Southfield Freeway will affect Dearborn area drivers this Saturday, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

The Wayne County Roads Division will be milling and resurfacing select entrance and exit ramps on M-39 on Saturday, July 14, from 12 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The areas affected are the northbound M-39 entrance and exit ramps to Ford Road, as well as the northbound M-39 entrance and exit ramps to Joy Road. This will result in the closure of the right lane and ramps.

Additionally, expect the following construction issues on I-94:

  • The westbound I-94 ramps to southbound M-39 and Pelham Road will remain closed for ongoing bridge work. The ramps are expected to reopen Wednesday, July 25, weather permitting.
  • The two left lanes of eastbound and westbound I-94 will be closed between Oakwood Boulevard and Telegraph Road from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for ongoing bridge work and pavement repair.
  • The left two lanes of eastbound and westbound I-94 will be closed between Michigan Avenue and West Grand Boulevard from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for ongoing bridge work and resurfacing. In addition, the ramps from I-96 and northbound Lodge to westbound I-94 will be closed during the same time frame.
