Check our Dearborn Patch Commute Page for up-to-the-minute traffic updates.

Lane and ramp closures on I-94 and the Southfield Freeway could affect driving for Dearborn area drivers this weekend, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

Eastbound and westbound I-94 will have only one lane open between Michigan Avenue and I-96 between 9 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday for ongoing resurfacing and bridge work. The following ramps will also be closed as a result of the construction:

  • Eastbound I-94 ramp to West Grand Boulevard;
  • Eastbound and westbound I-96 ramps to westbound I-94; and
  • All entrance ramps within the closure limits.

Additionally, northbound M-39 from Allen Road to Van Born Road, and southbound M-39 from Oakwood Boulevard to Pinecrest Drive, will be reduced to a single lane from 5 a.m. Saturday until 7 p.m. Sunday for ongoing bridge work at the I-94/M-39 interchange.
