Bored with the same old dining out destinations you've been going to for years? Hungering for a new fabulous food experience?
Each week, Dearborn Patch editors and readers will pick a great restaurant either in town or nearby whose cuisine is considered to reign supreme.
Here's this week's choice:
Overview: Crave Lounge is the place to be seen in Dearborn. From their ultra-fresh sushi to the elaborate drink menu, elegance and sensuality emanate from all aspects of the restaurant.
The Drinks: An impressive wine list is augmented by the addition of a wide range of sakes and their signature Sake-tinis. Martinis and beer are also available. Monday through Saturday from 4:30-6:30 p.m., Crave happy hour offers half-off all cocktails and 25 percent off all bottles of wine.
Appetizers: Soups, salads and small plates. From the small plates section, do not miss the Watermelon Napoleon, a refreshing and healthy mix of sweet, salty and savory. Kobe sliders and cilantro yellowtail are other excellent choices. The spicy tuna salad has a definite kick.
Sushi: Depending on your level of adventurousness, the live uni (sea urchin) is wonderful, when available. If sushi rolls are more your speed, try the spicy scallop for a delicate layering of flavors and texture. A variety of nigiri is also available with most regular options present.
Dessert: Decadence is the rule at Crave. Lava Cake with its hot, melted center is a definite counterbalance to the relatively healthy sushi.
Signature Dish: California Crave roll is a fascinating take on the California roll. King crab, strawberry, Japanese cucumber, topped with masago and mango drizzle.
Address: 22075 Michigan Ave.
