At-Risk Dearborn Students Attend Michigan Construction Career Day

Students from Dearborn Magnet High School learn about construction trade jobs in Howell.

Two Dearborn Magnet High School students attended the Michigan Construction Career Day in Howell on May 14.

The students learned about all of the construction trades: bricklaying, carpentry, cement work, electrician, laborer, iron worker, roofer, etc.

Students gained hands-on experience at the outdoor and indoor exhibits located at the Sam T. Hart Training and Education Center in Howell.

The students received a free backpack and hard hat and had a chance to talk with admission counselors at Michigan colleges and universities with construction-related curriculum. They also had a chance to talk one-on-one with real construction professionals.
