Andiamo Honors Breast Cancer Awareness Month by Raising Funds for Mammograms

The metro Detroit restaurant group has teamed up with Oakwood Healthcare to help provide free mammograms through their Pasta & Passion event.

Every metro Detroit diner knows that Andiamo restaurants have a passion for pasta–but for the second year in a row, President and CEO Joe Vicari is supporting another thing close to his heart: Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Several years ago, one of Vicari's employees was diagnosed with breast cancer–a disease that eventually took her life.

“It was a very difficult situation for everyone–her family, her friends and everyone she worked with,” said Vicari.

Last year, in her honor, Vicari teamed up with to present Pasta & Passion–a monthlong event aimed at raising funds to help raise awareness and early detection of breast cancer.

Throughout October, Andiamo will donate $2 of every entree sold to Oakwood Healthcare to provide free mammograms to uninsured and underinsured women. The offer is good at any of the nine Andiamo locations throughout the Detroit metro area, including Dearborn, Livonia, Novi, Royal Oak, Bloomfield Township, Grosse Pointe Woods and the Detroit Riverfront. No coupon is necessary.
