Hiring Our Heroes launched in March 2011 as a nationwide initiative to help veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses find meaningful employment. To date, more than 1,500 companies have hired 21,600 veterans and military spouses as a result of more than 700 hiring fairs.

Prior to the hiring fair, the event will feature an employment workshop beginning at 8:30 a.m. Classroom and mentoring sessions will focus on resume building, resume writing, and interviewing techniques.

A maximum of 50 participants will be accepted for this workshop, and candidates can register for this session at the Dearborn Hiring our Heroes website used for job fair registration.

Following the hiring fair, employers are invited to attend a “Best Practices in Veteran Recruitment Lunch & Learn,” from 1-2 p.m. Lunch is free for employers, recruiters and human resources professionals.

Interested employers need to register for the lunch by April 16 with Marady Leary, director of education for Hiring our Heroes, via email at mleary@uschamber.com.
