When was the business founded?
How did your business come to be?
At the time, I was an active real estate agent. The property had just been put up for sale and I immediately purchased it. At that time, there was a state farm insurance agent leasing the building, and remained there for 9 months. After he retired, I listed the building for lease but didn't have any luck. So one day I decided I would do something with it. At first I considered opening up a gift shop / boutique. Then the idea of opening a salon sounded more appealing. a few days later we began the transformation We originally started out as a nail salon, and in 2011 we added a full service hair salon in the rear of the building. Our business has seen a steady up climb since day one. The success of the business is due to the following
1. our loyal customers and their referrals
2. the amazing employees that go out of their way to make sure every client is completely satisfied
3. the clean, comfortable and inviting atmosphere of the salon.
Why did you choose the area you did?
West Dearborn has always been a vibrant and constantly growing business district. Monroe St is located in a residential / commercial area attracting a large number of people from the cities throughout the tri-county area.
