The Dearborn Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for its annual Innovative Business Award, which recognizes a local business that takes risks, breaks the mold in their industry, and is making strides in Michigan's tough economic market.
The chamber, Dearborn Patch, and Online Voting award sponsor Blue Cross Blue Shield want to hear your input.

- Be a Dearborn business that has formed since Jan. 1, 2005.
- Demonstrate a high level of positive energy and willingness to take risks in exploring a new business type.
- Take part in a cutting-edge business sector, such as technology, alternative energy, the arts; or give a unique approach to a traditional business.
- Stimulate growth and community well-being in Dearborn, Metro Detroit and Michigan.
And if you nominate, you could win, too! One lucky nominator will get a pair of tickets to Taste of Dearborn on June 20, hosted by the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce. The event features samples of cuisine .
The winner of the Innovative Spirit Award will be honored at the chamber's Business Recognition Awards Ceremony & Expo, held April 26 at the . Several local businesses will also be honored with the Business of the Year, Business Leader of the Year, Small Busines of the Year and Milestone awards.
Here are our official contest rules:
- Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia who are 18 and older.
- To enter, leave a comment on this article telling us which Dearborn-area business should win the Innovative Spirit Award, and why.
- All entries must be received by 5 p.m. March 9, EST.
- You may only enter once.
- One winner will be selected in a random drawing.
- One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive two tickets to the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce Taste of Dearborn on June 20, 2012. Transportation to/from the event is not included and will be the responsibility of the winner.
