New Skin Care Business Opens at Dearborn Racquet Club

R3 Radiant Skin Care by Jill offers facials and other cleansing services.

A skin care studio is the newest business to open its doors in Dearborn.

R3 Radiant Skin Care By Jill is located inside the Dearborn Racquet and Health Club, 2727 South Gulley Road. It offers waxing, brow tinting, facials and LED light therapy, in addition to acne skin care services.

Owner and therapist Jill Rinke said opening the studio has been her dream since she became a state licensed esthetician in 2008. The Michigan native currently lives in Springboro, Ohio, where she works for a dermatologist, however she travels to Michigan two to three weekends a month to run her own business.

"I never thought I would own my own business, but things just started to fall in place at the right time," Rinke explained.

The former flight attendant said she's always had an interest in skin care that stems from an early career in modeling.

"As much as I love flying, it makes me feel good to make other people feel good," she said.

After pursuing a degree in esthetics (skin care) from Miami-Jacobs Career College, Rinke's sister-in-law invited her to host facial parties for friends in Michigan.

Rinke offers three types of facials: renew, revive or restore. Each facial lasts about an hour and can include deep tissue cleansing, extractions, enzyme masks, hydration masks, and an ultrasonic skin scrubber. She also offers dermaplaning (exfoliating the epidermis and ridding the skin of fine hair) and body buffing services. Each facial is part of a package price, and starts at $65.

Rinke is the only esthetician in Michigan to offer the SkinScript, natural fruit-based corrective care line of products made in Arizona.

Dearborn resident Lisa Sinatra said she just recently discovered Rinke's business after a friend referred her for a facial.

"I use several of Jill's services and I leave feeling refreshed and relaxed," Sinatra said. "A lot of my friends told me that they've really noticed a difference in my skin during the past month."

As part of her training in anti-aging and acne skin care, Rinke spends a lot of her time educating younger clients about the importance of healthy skin.

"The skin is the body's largest organ, and it's the first thing you see when you meet someone," she explained.

To that end, Rinke said she plans to reach out to schools in the Dearborn area in the fall to guest lecture on proper skin care in high school health classes.

"It's best to catch acne problems in the seventh and eighth grade," she said.

Acne can also be an issue for older adults, too, Rinke said.

"I want to help anyone who is having problems with their skin, or is just looking to treat themselves to a relaxing session," she said.
