A winter snow storm is expected to hit the area Tuesday.

The sun will be shining and the temperature rising on Monday in Dearborn, but don't let it fool you: Winter isn't over yet.

Predictions from the National Weather Service are calling for as much as nine inches of snow in the Dearborn area this week as a winter storm moves into the southeast Michigan region on Tuesday.

According to NWS, the storm will likely start as a mixture of rain and snow and turn into just snow by 4 p.m. Tuesday. One to three inches are predicted during the afternoon, with another two to four possible that night. Another one to two inches could come Wednesday morning.

Snow showers are expected to taper off through the week, and as precipitation levels fall, temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 30s.
