Dozens Pour in Support for Michigan Scents Kickstarter Campaign

The Dearborn-based business met its $12,000 goal to manufacture the first "Made in the USA" petal warmer.

For the past 30 days, Michigan Scents, LLC. has been running a crowd-funding campaign on Kickstarter for backers to help "Make Things Better."

Michigan Scents sought financial support for their new product, the electric petal warmer, a popular home scenting device that is currently only made in China. Michigan Scents will be bringing production of the product back to Michigan.

"With all of the talk about bringing production back to the U.S., Sarah and I decided it starts here. Now. With us." said Kelly Gheesling, founder of Michigan Scents.

"Competitors sell more than $600 million dollars in warmers a year, all made in China. We are excited to bring a portion of that back home, and Kickstarter was a great platform to get the community involved in this effort to 'Make Things Better.' We were overwhelmed with the local and national support of this campaign and cannot wait to deliver," Gheesling continued.

The Michigan Scents Kickstarter campaign was successfully funded at the project's close at midnight on April 11. Backers of the project will be the first to receive the new electric petal warmer and other "Made in the USA" products.
