Country Inn & Suites Slated to Open Hotel in August
The 100-room hotel will open at 24555 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn this summer.
DEARBORN — Country Inn & Suites says the development group that is building a new hotel on Michigan Avenue hopes to have it open by August.
The hotel, located at 24555 Michigan Ave., will be operated by the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group based in Minnesota.
Roseanne Swanson, a spokeswoman for the company, said work on the interior of the building has been ongoing. Planned amenities include 100 guest rooms, meeting rooms, a fitness area, indoor heated pool, continental breakfast bar, complimentary high-speed Internet, and an airport shuttle for guests traveling to the Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
"The brand is making strides in growing its footprint in Michigan,” said Scott Meyer, senior vice president, Midscale Brands, Americas. “The continued growth in this region is another step forward in our plan to expand the brand primarily in the United States, Canada, India and Mexico.”
Swanson said construction on the building has primarily focused on converting a vacant Holiday Inn Express built in 2010 to conform to the Country Inn & Suites design.
