American Arab of the Year 2012 Awardees Announced

The American Arab Professionals Network of the American Arab Chamber of Commerce will honor local award-winners at their annual banquet on May 16.

The  American Arab Professionals Network of the American Arab Chamber of Commerce announced its 2012 American Arab of the Year Award winners Tuesday.

Award recipients were named in the areas of education, finance, entrepreneurship, law and medicine. They included several Dearborn and Dearborn Heights professionals.

All awardees will be honored during the AACC's annual on May 16.

The awardees are:

  • American Arab of the Year in Education: Ahlam Moughania, assistant superintendent, Hamadeh Educational Services
  • American Arab of the Year in Entrepreneurship: Jamal, Issam and Haider Koussan, owners,
  • American Arab of the Year in Finance: Gehad Alwan, stockbroker, AXA Advisors
  • American Arab of the Year in Legal: James Stokes, attorney
  • American Arab of the Year in Medicine: Dr. Mouhanad Hammami, chief Of Health Operations, Department of Health and Human Services of Wayne County.
  • American Arab of the Year in Technology: Ali Siblani, president and CEO, EnvisionTEC, Inc.
