A New Day for Dots—Fashion Store Opens Latest Dearborn Location

The chain of women's fashionable clothing is doing well in a new spot.

Dots used to be a place tweens and teens would go to find fashionable styles on a budget.

But the chain's latest Dearborn store reaches out to a whole new demographic—20-somethings ready to go out on the town, or head to work.

The new Dearborn store, at Fairlane Meadows, is located near Ford Road and Mercury Drive.

Assistant Manager La'Jhay Sims said she and other staffers are loving the new location, and are coming out top in the region.

"It's a good location because it's not small," she said of the store, which opened Oct. 18. "We cater to juniors and plus."

The store is still affordable as Dots ever was, says Sims, but now stays more up-to-date with current fashion trends, like neon colors, blazers and houndstooth. The new store—twice the size of usual stores—will eventually replace the two Dearborn stores at Michigan Avenue and Schaefer and in Westborn Mall.

"This year's fall trends allow every woman to update her wardrobe in order to prepare for the changing seasons," said Samantha Gasco, marketing coordinator for Dots. "The new locations in Michigan will make the transition to fall looks both easy and affordable."

Dots creates the ideal atmosphere for any women sizes 0-24. Currently, Dots has more than 400 stores in 28 states.

Sims said she and employees enjoy assessing customers' styles and helping them find outfits that fit them personally.

"We like to make it fun for our employees," she said, "and our customers, too."
