Dearborn Jeweler Thinks Pink With Bracelet Proceeds Benefitting Breast Cancer Research

The bracelets will be available for a discounted price through Oct. 31.

When a jewelry importer contacted Steven Adelson about carrying a bracelet that would help those with breast cancer, the Dearborn businessman jumped at the chance.

"My wife and I lost a close friend to breast cancer," explained Adelson, owner of west Dearborn's Stephen Bernard Jewelers.

The bracelets are stainless steel set with pink sapphires—so buyers of them can not only support the cause, but wear the color to show it, too.

Priced at $100 each, $20 of each sale through the end of October will be donated to the Michigan-based Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. Adelson said the importer of the bracelet allowed sellers to choose which breast cancer-related cause to donate to.

"I thought this was a great tie-in for Breast Cancer Awareness Month," said Adelson.
