Julie Bawulski, admissions director for Dearborn Heights Montessori Center, recently confirmed that the school is continuing to accept enrollment applications for the 2013-14 school year.

“We offer authentic Montessori programs for children from 18 months through 14 years of age,” said Bawulski. “During the past 41 years, we’ve continued to grow and expand our programs for families seeking high quality educational options.”

According to Bawluski, one of the first events to be held during the new school year is the school-wide celebration of Peace Day, which recognizes the United Nation’s International Day of Peace held each year on Sept. 21.

“This year’s celebration will mark our fifth year to participate in this day-long event that ends with a special assembly for students, parents and staff in the school gym,” added Bawluski.

Peace is an integral part of the Montessori philosophy and DHMC’s year-round curriculum, which includes a variety of classroom and community activities.

Along with academic programs provided by experienced and well-trained staff, Dearborn Heights Montessori Center offers foreign language, art, music, physical education, technology, field trips, and in-house presentations as well as before and after-school care.

New parents are especially interested in learning about the school’s rapidly growing authentic Montessori toddler program.
