Players Guild of Dearborn Seek Actors for Fall Musical

Guild members will host a workshop for actors interested in auditioning for "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" on Aug. 10.

The Players Guild of Dearborn will host a free workshop on Aug. 10, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Dearborn High School.

Actors interested in auditioning for the Guild's fall musical, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, can meet with the production crew to become familiar with the story, characters, music and choreography.

The story focuses on Edwin Drood's uncle, John Jasper, who is in love with his pupil, Rosa Bud. Bud is Drood's fiancée who has also caught the eye of the high-spirited and hot-tempered Neville Landless. Landless and Drood take an instant dislike to one another, and Drood later disappears under mysterious circumstances.

Registration for the workshop begins at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 10. The workshop begins promptly at 10 a.m. and will run until approximately 1:15 p.m.

Audition music and choreography will be taught at the workshop, as well as dialect tips and improvisation practice. Actors should wear comfortable clothing and footwear.

Auditions are scheduled for Aug. 26-27 at Dearborn High School. Production dates for Drood are Nov. 8–10, 15–17, 22–24 and 29–Dec. 1, with performances held in  the Guild’s newly renovated theater.
