Michigan Postcard: Back Alley on Mackinac Island

Family makes the best of a chilly, rainy June day.

Former Dearborn resident Saba Laeeq was in Michigan in June when she and her family took a ferry to Mackinac Island.

"I took this pic as we were walking back towards the ferry station Arnold Transit Co.," said the mother of two boys who now lives in Scottsdale, AZ. "... it just looked so serene and peaceful, so pure Michigan close to the hustle and bustle of the main street.

"It was funny to me that we really wanted to ride bikes in the town, but that day was so cold, windy, rainy and foggy that all we could do was wear ponchos and walk around drinking hot chocolate and eating fudge! The bikes looked so lonely as if they were waiting to be ridden!"
