Last Chance: Meanings Optional Show Closes Friday at Padzieski Gallery

Works by Ann Arbor artist Joseph Bergman will be available for viewing through April 13.

Meanings Optional–an art show of drawings, paper works and digital prints by Ann Arbor artist Joseph Bergman–closes April 13 at Dearborn's Padzieski Art Gallery after a monthlong run.

The show has been brought to the gallery, which is located inside of the , by the Dearborn Community Arts Council.

According to a previous showing of similar works by Bergman at the Chelsea Center for the Arts, the artist "goes through a methodical process of accumulating images and materials, breaking them down and modifying the bits to be used, ordering the elements, and finally organizing, and resolving his compositions."

Bergman has a formal arts education, as well as experience as an instructor of art. He received his BFA degree from the Pratt Institute, and his MFA degree from Pennsylvania State University. He taught drawing, graphic design two dimensional and three-dimensional design, printmaking, and digital imaging at Siena Heights University in Adrian, MI,  from 1972 to 2006.

Meanings Optional is free to attend and open to the public. Hours are 12-6 p.m., Tuesday-Friday.
