Get Out: Party with the Rotary, Home and Garden Expo and Festival of the Bands

Why Go: To celebrate St. Patty's Day a little early. Cover charge includes live Irish band and Irish food.

Where/When: Hard Rock Cafe, 45 Monroe, Detroit; 8 p.m. Friday

Why Go: Dearborn-native band The Wall Clocks are one of five up for the Detroit title. The winner will go on to compete in a national competition, and the winner will play at London’s Hyde Park during Hard Rock Calling 2011, a three-day music festival.

Where/When: 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: To garner inspiration for your own spring home improvement projects from all of the attractions, exhibits and product demonstrations. Hosted by the Dearborn Area Board of Realtors.

Pricing: Free admission and parking.


Where/When: , 2 p.m. Sunday

Why Go: Dr. Mazin B. Qumsiyeh is contributing to the conversation about Palestinian protest—misconceptions, strengths and weaknesses. Copies of the book Palestine: A History of Hope and Empowerment will be available at the signing.

Pricing: Free


Where/When: ; 3 p.m. Sunday

Why Go: The ticket price is a great deal as it includes solo performances by four bands as well as two group numbers by all the bands together at the end of the show.

Pricing: $15, $12 for students and seniors
