The legendary Juilliard String Quartet will open the 69th season of the Chamber Music Society of Detroit on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 8:00 p.m. performing string quartets by Beethoven. A pre-concert film, The Juilliard String Quartet: Keeping Beethoven Contemporary, is open to ticket holders free of charge. It is the world premiere and includes rehearsal and performance excerpts, ongoing dialogue between the four musicians, and a conversation between the quartet members and the filmmakers about he string quartet as a genre of music and the significant contributions of Beethoven.
