HFCC Spring Choral Concert

Henry Ford Community College’s annual HFCC Spring Choral Concert, conducted by G. Kevin Dewey, takes place Sunday, April 22, at the First United Methodist Church, located on 22124 Garrison in Dearborn.

The concert provides an opportunity to hear four of HFCC’s performing ensembles: the Concert Choir (mixed choir), Renaissance Voices (women’s ensemble), and its vocal jazz ensembles Blue Fusion and Midnight Blue. A wide variety of musical styles will be on display at this event.

Selections include Giuseppe Verdi’s “Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves,” Claude Debussy’s “Beau Soir” and Steven Errante’s “Sing to the Lord a New Song.” Also featured are choral arrangements of “Bridge over Troubled Water,” “The Gift to Be Simple” and “Ain’-a That Good News.”

In addition to Dewey, other featured composers and arrangers include Morten Lauridsen, Gene Puerling, Gwyneth Walker, and Michelle Weir.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $7 for students and seniors. They will be available at the door. For more information, please call 313-317-6566.
