"Grease" is the word this spring as the hot Broadway musical roars into Henry Ford Community College for a half-dozen music- and dance-packed shows.
"Grease" chronicles life at the fictional Rydell High and the love story between "greaser" Danny Zuko and new girl Sandy Dumbrowski. During summer break Danny and Sandy enjoyed some "Summer Lovin,'" but when they meet again at Rydell, he plays it cool to save face with his friends, to Sandy's chagrin. The rest of the musical is packed with classic tunes and a timeless story line where the guy tries to win back his girl.
The play is directed by Judith Fletcher with technical direction by Gerard Dzuiblinski and musical direction by G. Kevin Dewey, all of whom are HFCC faculty members in Fine Arts.
The show will play 8 p.m. April 13-14 and April 20-21 and 2 p.m. April 15 and 22 at the Adray Auditorium, located in the Mackenzie Fine Arts Center on the main campus.
Tickets cost $17 for general audience members and $15 for students with a valid college photo ID. For further information and to make reservations, please contact Fletcher at (313) 845-9817 or via email at email@example.com.
