Dearborn Symphony Accepting Applications for Youth Soloists

Young musicians will be required to audition for performance spots with the symphony.

Youth musicians have until Feb. 10 to put their names in the running as solo performers with the .

Audition dates were announced this week for the 2012 Youth Artists Solo Competition, which will decide a chosen few musicians who will be able to perform with the Dearborn orchestra.

First, however, musicians must submit an application to audition. The form can be found on the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra website. Forms must be mailed to the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra at P.O. Box 2063, Dearborn, MI, 48123 and postmarked no later than Feb. 10.

Auditions are limited to the first 30 applications received in each category–piano or strings–and are based on the postmark dates.

Auditions will be held March 10, with finals on March 11, at Marygrove College in Detroit.
