With Her Puppies Gone, Zelda Is Looking for a New Home

A Labrador retriever who had a litter in December watched all her puppies get adopted. Now, she's looking for a home of her own.

Last December, 2-year-old Zelda gave birth to a litter of puppies, all of which have found their forever adoptive homes. Now, the black Labrador retriever mix is looking for a home of her own.

Weighing in at 35 pounds, Zelda is a compact Lab mix, and is currently up for adoption from the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

The adoption fee for an adult dog such as Zelda is $140. Adoption fees include a basic medical exam, behavior assessment, age-appropriate vaccinations, parasite and worm check, spay or neuter, heartworm check, microchip ID, collar and tag plus dog-care information.

Adopters are also eligible for pet insurance from PetFirst HealthCare at an introductory price of $5 for the first month. The price includes accident and illness coverage with any veterinarian. Adopters must register their pet within 20 days of adoption by calling 866-937-PETS, or visiting www.petfirstadoption.com.
