Say Hello to Horatio the Cat

This mackerel striped tabby is available for adoption from the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

Horatio is sitting patiently in the Cat Community Center at the , just wondering why he hasn't found a permanent home yet.

This 5-year-old red striped tabby has a laid-back attitude, good manners, and is quite the looker, with deep gold eyes and a silky coat. Horatio is ready to go home with a new family at any time, and does get along with other cats.

The adoption fee for an adult cat such as Horatio is currently $25. Adoption fees include a basic medical exam, behavior assessment, age-appropriate vaccinations, parasite and worm check, spay or neuter, microchip ID, travel box, cat comforter and cat care information. An optional, but recommended, combination feline AIDS and feline leukemia test (for cats 12 weeks and older) is an additional $20.

Adopters are also eligible for pet insurance from PetFirst HealthCare at an introductory price of $5 for the first month. The price includes accident and illness coverage with any veterinarian. Adopters must register their pet within 20 days of adoption by calling 866-937-PETS, or visiting www.petfirstadoption.com.
