Rednecks and Dearborn—a perfect match, or a disaster waiting to happen?

The CMT show My Big Redneck Vacation will be showcasing a Dearborn-based episode this Saturday, Feb 16.

Season three of the reality series, hosted by Tom Arnold, follows the Clampets on a road trip across the U.S. So far, viewers have seen them hit the beaches in Miami and head to Washington, D.C.

According to CMT, the family comes to Michigan for a lumberjack competition, and ends up spending some time in Dearborn. There, the family interacts with the city’s Arab American and Muslim population—hopefully learning a few things along the way.

The episode was filmed in Dearborn last September.

A hint at what viewers can expect: A preview of the season from CMT shows the family smoking a hookah, hanging out in an Arabic bakery, and asking, "We're still in America, right?" while driving through a Dearborn neighborhood.

“In this all-new episode, the Clampets stop at a pharmacy to get Pressley some drugs, however, Wendy is denied entrance for revealing clothing,” a release on the episode hints. “Aimee and Michelle run into a Muslim girl in the store, who befriends the girls and invites them over for dinner. The Clampets are very wary at first, but eventually learn that these folks are every bit as American as they are.”

The episode premieres at 9 p.m. on CMT this Saturday. Will you watch it?
