Pro-Life Group Plans Memorial Saturday at Closed Abortion Clinic

Citizens for a Pro-Life Society will rally at American Family Planning beginning at 11 a.m. in Dearborn.

DEARBORN — Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, a pro-life activist organization, will hold a “memorial service” for aborted fetuses from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 15 outside the closed American Family Planning clinic, located at 4132 Schaefer Road in Dearborn.

The clinic closed on April 12 after its owner, Dr. Noon-Nahm Ann, retired.

Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, based in South Lyon, said American Family Planning is one of eight abortion clinics in the state to close in the last eight months. Two were in Livonia and one each were in Detroit, the Bloomfield area, Muskegon, Lansing and Saginaw.

Saturday's memorial will feature Pastor Claude May of the Oasis of Hope Church in Detroit, Pastor Michael Ewert of the Dearborn Free Methodist Church, Pastor Matthew Owen of the Community Bible Church in Trenton, Fr. Aaron DePeyster of St. Sebastian Parish in Dearborn Heights, and Edmund Miller, founder of Guadalupe Partners.

Author Melissa Ohden will also speak at the event. Ohden's life and ministry is featured in the award winning pro-life documentary, A Voice for Life.

The memorial service is open to the public.
