Oakwood Hospital's Eric McBride Joins '40 Under 40' Award Recipients

Crain's Detroit Business honored McBride for developing a turnaround plan that resulted in increased revenue at Oakwood Healthcare, Inc.

Crain's Detroit Business announced the 2013 class of 40 under 40 honorees this week.

Among this year's recipients is Eric McBride, 39, chief operating officer for Oakwood Physicians Integrated.

McBride is recognized for developing and leading a turnaround plan that resulted in increased revenue and patient visits and improved doctor recruitment at Oakwood Healthcare, Inc.

According to Crain's, McBride helped consolidate three physician organizations into a new division.

"The big challenge was really integrating three different cultures together," McBride told the newspaper. "Pulling all those things together created a number of challenges."

The plan resulted in revenue growth in 2012 of 30 percent, a 15 percent increase in patient visits and 20 new physician recruits, representing 230 total physicians.
