why do we honor Martin Luther king in a city that is not Black? I have been trying to figure this out/ I know many cities that do not honor it / we have that choice you know , it's not a major holiday it's optional .....and NO I'm not Racist..I'm just wondering and maybe someone can share the answer to me ...

Are you SERIOUS, Linda? Please make your name anonymous or anyone who recognizes your name will reconcile both your behind-the-computer screen persona with your secretly prejudiced public self. Martin Luther King, Jr. was not speaking on behalf of black Americans alone--and you should be well aware of Michigan's unique and ever-growing diversity which justifies a desire to celebrate this holiday. And remember that only of a fraction of the US population can actually claim "native" status.

Maybe Ms. Brazier will spend the day marching down Michigan Avenue, vowing to keep any more folks of color from coming into Dearborn.
