Henry Ford Estate—The Most Romantic Place in Dearborn?

Dearborn Patch readers seem to think so—do you agree?

It's Valentine's Day, and we at Patch are thinking about romance.

Specifically, the best places to snuggle up with a sweetie in Dearborn.

So is it an intimate dinner at Andiamo? A weekend getaway at the Dearborn Inn? A city-lit walk down Michigan Avenue, clutching a cappucino? Or a tree-lined stroll through the grounds of the Henry Ford Estate?

Dearborn Patch Facebook fan Barbara Fox-hajj Houssein share: "My husband took me to the Henry Ford Estate on our first date. Of course, that was in May, not February."

But even with snow on the ground, the winding trails behind the University of Michigan-Dearborn and onto the HFE grounds can be enchanting.

But is it the most romantic place in Dearborn? Share your thoughts in the comments, as well as your Dearborn love stories.

Happy Valentine's Day, Dearborn!

Since it's outside, I agree that the season may have some effect on whether the Henry Ford Estate is THE most romantic place in Dearborn. However, I will always remember it as it was the day, 6 months ago today, my fiancee proposed there. :)

Yes, the Henry Ford Estate is my favorite place in Dearborn...for romance, friendship and family activities. My DHS senior prom was held at Henry Ford Estate. I felt like a princess entering a castle as we arrived. After dancing in one of the lovely rooms, we stepped out of the French doors to the terrace and went for a walk on the sprawling lawn. It was magical yet youthfully fun as we crowned our prom king and queen. Since then, my absolute favorite place in Dearborn to enjoy lunch with friends and Mother's Day brunch was the Pool Room and the patio outside of the pool room, next to the rose garden...sadly, now closed. Walking on the grounds and the Estate's Halloween trick-or-treat for children remain favorite activities for my family. We also enjoyed the tradition started by Henry Ford himself, visiting Santa and having "snowflake soup" in the children's playhouse.

Leslie, I believe you and I were at the same prom. And I'm not much of a gooey, romantic guy, but I took a ton of pictures of everyone all over the grounds. I had never been there before and I was impressed with how romantic it actually was (for a goofy 18 year-old).
