Fordson Student Awarded MLK Scholarship

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee hosts the MLK essay contest annually for Michigan Arab and Chaldean teens.

A Fordson High School student has been named the first place winner of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee's annual MLK Scholarship.

Asma Baban will be honored alongside a handful of other Arab- and Chaldean-American high school seniors at an awards reception on Feb. 22. The event will be held at the Byblos Banquet Hall in Dearborn and is open by invitation only.

The ADC of Michigan hosts their Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship annually, asking Arab and Chaldean high school seniors from across the state to write an essay about what MLK's message means to them.
