TODAY: Friends of the Library-Dearborn to Host Holiday Book Sale

Stock up on gifts, holiday cookbooks and more at the sale on Wednesday, Nov. 7.

The Friends of the Library Dearborn will host a “Get Ready for the Holidays!” book and media sale 9:30 a.m.–6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the Henry Ford Centennial Library.

The library is located at 16301 Michigan Ave.

Items for sale will include books, compact discs, DVDs, vinyl records, videocassettes and magazines. Featured items will include cookbooks, and books on entertaining and decorating, as well as a variety of holiday items.

FOLD also has a very special collection of items that are in perfect or near-perfect condition, making them nice enough to give as gifts.

Shoppers will find books that sold for $20 or $50 priced at just a few dollars each.

FOLD is promoting the sale as a great way to get a jump on holiday shopping or to just find a treasure for yourself. Also, bargain hunters can search through hundreds of items in the rotunda area that are priced at just 50 cents or 25 cents.

FOLD is also holding a special “Music Lovers” sale 6–8:15 p.m. Nov. 13 in conjunction with the Cavalcade of Music program, which is at 7 p.m. in the library auditorium.

The Cavalcade of Music program will feature performer Kenneth J. Stokes and music of the 20s, 30s and 40s, along with a salute to veterans. It is free.

In the rotunda, FOLD will have used LPs, 45s, books, and collector-quality items, along with some bargain-priced items.

Proceeds from the FOLD sales are used to support popular library programs.
