Fat Albert Will Provide Loads of Fun to an Adoptive Family

This week, we present a fat cat with a lot of personality looking to find his forever home.

Update: Fat Albert has been adopted. Check www.dearborn-animals.com for more adoptable animals!

Hey, hey, hey! Fat Albert is here and he's no 1970s cartoon. This 8-year-old, plus-size cat isn't overweight–he's full of love he wants to share with his forever family, whenever they come to take him home.

Fat Albert is a domestic shorthair cat with a beautiful blend of black and white fur combined with pretty yellow eyes. He weighs in at 21 pounds and is described as charming and hilarious. Albert is front declawed and gets along well with other cats.

The adoption fee for an adult cat like Fat Albert is normally $80, but has been lowered to $25 to help reduce the large number of cats and kittens at the shelter. Adoption fees include a basic medical exam, behavior assessment, age-appropriate vaccinations, parasite and worming check, spay or neuter, microchip ID, travel box, cat comforter and cat care information. An optional, but recommended, combination feline AIDS and feline leukemia test (for cats 12 weeks and older) is an additional $20.

Adoptors are also eligible for pet insurance from PetFirst HealthCare at an introductory price of $5 for the first month. The price includes accident and illness coverage with any veterinarian. Adoptors must register their pet within 20 days of adoption by calling 866-937-PETS, or visiting www.petfirstadoption.com.
