Dearborn Residents Among Artists Featured in Pop-Up Gallery

The gallery will open across from City Hall Park in Dearborn beginning July 17.

A new “12 on 12” pop-up art gallery will open to the public on Wednesday from 5 to 10 p.m. in east Dearborn.

The gallery, located at 13742 Michigan Ave., will showcase 12 professional artists from around southeast Michigan demonstrating their art forms, answering questions about technique and showcasing their artwork in the improvised gallery.

Dearborn residents Mohamad Bazzi (paint) and Steve Glazer (ceramics) are among the artists featured in the gallery.

Bazzi has extensive experience as a working artist, muralist and graphic artist. A former resident of Beirut, Lebanon, Bazzi studied painting, art history and education at Wayne State University and received a degree in art education before landing a teaching job at Dearborn Public Schools.

The gallery, a project of the EDDDA with support from Oakwood Healthcare and the Dearborn Community Fund, will be open on two additional Wednesdays, July 24 and 31 from 5 to 10 p.m.
