Dearborn Neighborhood Evacuated for Gas Leak

DTE Energy crews are repairing a gas main near Carlysle and Mayfair streets.

CBS Detroit is reporting that a neighborhood in Dearborn was evacuated early Wednesday morning due to a gas leak.

The incident occurred at Carlysle and Mayfair streets, near Outer Drive and Pelham Street around 4 a.m.

Officials with MichCon told the news that the gas main leak has since been capped and it is safe for residents to return to their homes. Workers will repair the gas main Wednesday afternoon.
