Award citations were presented during a special ceremony at City Hall. Winners were selected from each of the 17 districts created by City Beautiful commissioners to ensure all sections of Dearborn are represented. Additionally, runner-up winners in each district will receive a special display decal in the mail.
Mayor John B O’Reilly, Jr. thanked City Beautiful Commission members for their work in selecting the winners and joined them in honoring the awardees.
“Keeping our city beautiful has always been a source of pride for Dearborn residents,“ said O’Reilly. “We want to thank these residents for their detailed care of their property, because it enhances the appeal of our neighborhoods and helps keep Dearborn a welcoming place.”
Mary Petchlikoff serves as chairperson of the City Beautiful Commission. Commissioners Susan Curran and Kim Field are co-chairwomen of the Neighborhood Pride committee.
The Dearborn City Beautiful Commission recognizes homeowners whose extraordinary care and creativity make their property pop, whether they have a neat and tidy bungalow or a dramatic sprawling showpiece. The awards help encourage all residents to keep their homes and gardens beautiful.
