Dearborn Knights of Columbus Donation Will Give Children in Need a Furry Friend

A donation of 30 teddy bears was made to the Dearborn police and fire departments.

Who isn’t comforted by a teddy bear? And if you're a child in a stressful situation, a stuffed animal can be an emotional life-saver.

Thanks to the Knights of Columbus Bishop Foley Council 2660, the Dearborn Police and Fire departments will now have 30 teddy bears to give to children after house fires, auto accidents or other traumas.

Fire Chief Joseph Murray, Mayor Jack O'Reilly and Police Chief Ronald Haddad accepted the bears this month on behalf of the city. This is the 13th year in a row that the KofC has donated the stuffed toys.
