The public is invited to an “Interfaith Service of Prayer and Remembrance of 9/11” at 7 p.m. at the Hemlock Park shelter on Sept. 11.
Organized by the Dearborn Area Faith Network, this commemoration will feature reading and reflections by leaders from a variety of religions, as well as music and a candle lighting.
"Join us for prayer with messages of hope and peace as we celebrate the unity that has made our diverse community strong," the DAFN said in a press release.
Dearborn Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr. and Dearborn Heights Mayor Dan Paletko will give short remarks at the ceremony.
The ceremony is expected to last about 30 minutes. Hemlock Park is on Hemlock Avenue, east of Schaefer and north of Ford Road.
