Dearborn Family Losing Mom to Cancer—Here's How You Can Help

A fellow parent is collecting monetary and other donations through Dec. 20.

A Dearborn family is going through a tragic ordeal, and other local parents are reaching out to the community for help.

Dearborn parent and Relay For Life liaison Alysia Schuler shared that Nikki Cannizzaro, a wife and mother of four, "is nearing the end of her three-year cancer battle."

"Losing a mother and wife is hard enough, but at Christmas, we could never imagine the pain and sadness they will endure this season," Schuler said.

As such, Schuler is helping to connect donations for the Cannizzaro family—both monetary and otherwise. Specifically, they're looking for:

  • Checks (made out to Ray Cannizzaro)
  • Gift cards to local stores or restaurants
  • Meals
  • Gifts for the family and/or children

Donations should be dropped off or mailed to Snow Elementary, but must be there by Thursday, Dec. 20. Items can be dropped in the school's main office, or mailed to:
