The City of Dearborn declared a snow emergency at 9 p.m. on Jan. 1, and it will remain in effect at least through the morning of Friday, Jan. 3, the city reported Thursday.

All parked vehicles must be removed from city streets to allow for safe and efficient snowplowing.

The city realizes this is an inconvenience, and would like to thank residents for their cooperation in keeping their parked vehicles off the streets until further notice.

Vehicles in the street during the snow emergency may be ticketed and/or towed.

For more information, or to check the status of the snow emergency, call the Snow Plowing Hotline at (313) 943-2444.

So, will the city/police actually do something about the cars people leave on the streets? It didn't appear that they did anything to the cars left on our street during the last snow emergency.

Same on our block, Diane. And we have two households of able bodied people that refuse to shovel the sidewalk in front of their homes. If they persist after this snowfall I am calling building and safety to see if they will issue any citations.
